L/A Arts announces the Fire & Ice Café / Cabaret at the 2017 Auburn Winter Fest!
Dates: January 27-29
Location: 1 Great Falls Plaza, Auburn, Maine
Join us Friday through Sunday, January 27 – 29 for live music, fine art and crafts for sale (just in time for Valentine’s shopping), and a menu of Asian-French fusion inspired food and drink from Chef Zach Pratt of Boba! Kids and families can enjoy craft activities during the afternoon, while adults get to experience great food and live music in the evening and a special Sunday brunch.
Also featuring live ice sculpting and metalworking demos and fashion shows by local teens, this will be a unique weekend event you won’t want to miss!

Student gallery for Dia de los Muertos open at L/A Arts’ downtown gallery
Come celebrate Dia de los Muertos with us and the Spanish language students of Lewiston Middle School! This year’s Day of the Dead teaching artist residency has wrapped up, and the student found-object shrines to lost loved ones are on display at L/A Arts (221 Lisbon Street, Lewiston). Join us Wednesday, November 9 from 5:00-8:00 PM for the free opening reception. Includes refreshments!
The student artwork will be on display at L/A Arts until Nov 15 during regular business hours (M-F 9:00-5:00).
A huge thank you to all participating students. A special thank you goes to LMS Spanish teacher Jennifer Goodine and teaching artist Natasha Mayers for their hard work in making this residency possible for the sixth year in a row.

Bonus art walk: Thursday Art Crawl on October 6

If you thought the September Art Walk was the end of the season, don’t fret. A special 2016 bonus Thursday Art Crawl on Thursday, October 6 will follow. The Art Crawl will coincide with the Maine International Conference on the Arts taking place in Lewiston Auburn and include the Maine Craft Association’s 2016 Craft Apprenticeship Program gallery showing from 4:00-7:00 at LA Arts and a special art walk through Lewiston from 7:00-8:00.
Over a dozen venues will be exhibiting the work of area artists, with drinks and snacks along the way.

The exhibition highlights work from the Craft Apprentice Program (CAP), a seven-month statewide mentoring program founded in 2016 for contemporary craft practitioners.
