About Robert Sylvain and The Cajun Aces de Douce
Robert Sylvain and the Cajun Aces de Douce present a Portland-style take, complete with horn section, on classic Cajun material as brought to them by the original Deuce, fiddler Matthew Doucet, who returned to his native Louisiana two years after starting the band with Sylvain in 2004. The Aces pick up where the Deuce left off, with full blast crazy Cajun mayhem in every show.
Cajun Aces is sponsored by Leary and DeTroy. The Sounds of Summer concert series is sponsored by Bates Mill Complex, Liberty Mutual and Patrons Oxford.Art Walk Lewiston Auburn Tonight!!!
Art Walk Lewiston Auburn is upon us again, and we are gearing up for another great night of cool gallery spaces, interesting installations and awesome live music. Art Walk Lewiston Auburn starts at 5PM and continues until 8:30PM.
L/A Arts is excited to present a free concert in Dufresne Plaza tonight at 6PM. The featured musical group is the much adored DownEast Brass. We’re crossing our fingers that the weather remains nice, but should it rain the DownEast Brass will move indoors to the Lewiston Public Library in Callahan Hall.
Additionally, L/A Arts Community Gallery features a question installation titled: L/A Confessional. To learn more about L/A Confessional check out the What’s New Page of our site.
Maximum Blue receives standing ovation!
Even with a little bit of rain, Maximum Blue shined bright. Today’s Sounds of Summer concert rocked the house, featuring great Bluegrass, NewGrass and Celtic music by up and coming Maine artist Max Silverstein. Accompanied by dad, Jeff Silverstein and friend Nancy Merrill audiences couldn’t believe the talent that poured out of this young man. Keep your eyes open for Maximum Blue–I hear they’re playing at Ossipee Valley Music Festival this weekend. 😉
July 26 Sounds of Summer: Maximum Blue Moved In Doors
It looks like the weather man was a little off today and there are strong chances of showers. To stay dry, L/A Arts has decided to move the Sounds of Summer concert indoors to the Great Falls View Room at the Hilton Garden Inn, Auburn. If you don’t know where the Great Falls View Room is, ask the front desk and they’ll point you in the right direction. See ya’ll there!!
L/A Confessional, A Question Installation at L/A Arts to uncover the secrets of Lewiston Auburn.
On July 27, you are invited to partake in a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of a media arts initiative about Lewiston Auburn. L/A Confessional, taking place at L/A Arts, 221 Lisbon Street in Lewiston, is a collaborative effort between Captive Elements Art House and L/A Arts to produce a short piece to be showcased in Captive Elements Art House (223 Lisbon St) at the final Lewiston Auburn Art Walk of the season on September 28, 2012.
Participant will have 20 questions to choose from, showcased on the walls of L/A Arts. Contributors will pick the three questions that resonate with them most; the best responses will be honest, detailed and story oriented. Responses to each of the three questions may be a maximum of one minute only. Sample questions include: “What is my biggest fear?” and “The one thing I would tell the world about L/A is?” Answers to these questions provide an intimate and honest view of our community’s perspective about ourselves, our cities and our future.
Appointments will be held in fifteen minute increments, with participants ideally reserve a time slot in advance. All question and answer sessions will be filmed on location. If you would like to participate, please contact Kerry Landry ([email protected]) or Carly Bouchard ([email protected], 782-7228) to reserve a time slot. All participants are required to arrive ten minutes early to their reserved time slot or risk losing their spot.
