As part of BDF X CRĀV’s 2024 Summer Battle weekend, this panel will trace the evolution of Black American artistic expression, celebrating its profound impact on culture, identity, and social change. Hear from Jackie “Miss Funk” Lopez, Emilio “Buddha Stretch” Austin Jr., Anthony “YNOT” Denaro, Michele “LadyByrd” Byrd-McPhee, and Daniel “DJ DP One” Pinero, in a discussion moderated by CRĀV Directors and beloved BDF Faculty members Shakia Barron and Duane Lee Holland Jr. These artists, scholars, and cultural ambassadors will be in dialogue around the continuum of Black Creativity across various mediums and will illuminate the significance of intergenerational relationships in the Hip Hop field.
