Movement at the Museum – Taiko Drumming

Join us on March 27 from 5-6pm for our next Movement at the Museum – Taiko Drumming.  Taiko Maine Dojo is a community Japanese drumming group based in Portland that practices kumi-daiko, meaning ensemble taiko drumming. In this workshop, we invite you to learn a brief history of taiko drumming and the basic techniques of taiko playing. Together, we will learn a piece that includes drumming, singing, and dancing to celebrate the beautiful and unique spirit of Japanese culture.   Free for all and no experience necessary.
