In this second series of the season “Song and Dance Music from Around the World” MSO Music Director Rohan Smith has selected a wonderful mix of Old World, Latin and American music that audience members of all ages are sure to enjoy.

“Huapango” by Jose Pablo Moncayo
“A Suite of Old American Songs” by Aaron Copland featuring Baritone Philp Lima
“Thunder and Lightning Polka” by Johann Strauss Jr
“Three Songs from “The Boy’s Magic Horn” by Gustav Mahler featuring Baritone Philp Lima
“Symphonic Dances from West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein

Soloist Philip Lima has regularly garnered critical acclaim for his performances on both  concert and operatic stages. He has sung leading operatic roles for the international Kurt Weill Festival in Germany, numerous regional American opera companies, and the Handel & Haydn Society. He has appeared as soloist with the Boston Pops and over seventy orchestras, choral societies, and concert series across the United States and in Korea and Ukraine.

This concert will take place Saturday January 20 at 7:00 pm in the beautiful Franco Center in Lewiston.

Individual tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Short season tickets for the remaining three classical concerts are now available for $60. All concert tickets are free for students ages 18 and under, or for college students with ID.

MSO tickets, including free student tickets, are paperless. Audiences, including students, are encouraged to purchase tickets up to 24 hours in advance of each concert, either online or via the Box Office. Check-in (“will call”) is in the lobby before the concert.
