Date: May 17 at 7:00 p.m., or 6:15 pm for our free “More with Midcoast” event featuring student Ryan Sweet performing several of his original piano compositions
The Midcoast Symphony Orchestra (MSO) under music director Rohan Smith performs “Ethereal Weaves of Air”, the fourth concert in this season’s theme of “Elemental Music to Stir the Soul.” This concert includes the following very upbeat works:
• Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson: Rondo: Allegro Furioso (from Sinfonietta No. 1)
• Joseph Haydn: Symphony No. 83 “La Poule”
• Sergei Prokofiev: Symphony No. 5 in B flat, Op. 100
As a part of MSO’s “More with Midcoast” community outreach series audience members are invited to arrive early at 6:15 pm. Mt. Ararat High School student Ryan Sweet will perform several of his original solo piano compositions in Franco’s Heritage Hall. Also, during intermission, two prize-winning high school musicians, cellist Ronan Sands and violinist Linnea Turesson, will perform music by Handel and Piazzolla.

Individual tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. This season MSO concerts are free for all audience members 25 and under.
MSO tickets, including free student tickets, are paperless. Audience members, including those 25 and under requesting FREE tickets, are encouraged to purchase tickets up to 24 hours in advance of each concert, either online or via the Box Office. Check-in (“Will Call”) is in the lobby before the concert.
