About:
ArtVan is a free mobile arts therapy program. Its mission is to bring the arts to inspire, deepen relationships, offer new experiences and open minds for new potential. Facilitated by an art therapist and professional art staff, the ArtVan Program takes the arts in a colorful van to: the streets, public housing developments, corrections facilities, schools, group homes, and anyone who has the least amount of social services and access to after school and summer activities. Projects are designed to address the many unique needs and specific situations that occur in each population. The art making process provides a tangible means to transform ideas, feelings, and stories. Our work is integral in enabling individuals to make sense of the world around them. ArtVan engages these populations in the art making process so they can explore and enrich lives.
