The first showing of our 9-part French film series will take place on Monday, October 29 in Heritage Hall of the Gendron Franco Center. All shows start at 7 p.m. and the door and bar will open at 6:30 p.m. Light concessions will be sold. Admission is free.
Félicité – 2017 French-Senegalese musical drama
Félicité is a Congolese singer who desperately needs money after her 14-year-old son Samo suffers a serious accident. She soon finds financial and emotional support from Tabu, one of the regulars in the bar where she performs. This film is shown through a partnership with the Bates College French Deportment and Tournée Film Festival
The magnificent Gendron Franco Center is handicap accessible and is located on the corner of Cedar and Oxford Streets in the “Little Canada” section of Lewiston, just across the Bernard Lown Peace Bridge from New Auburn.
