Dia de los Muertos Project

  • Visual Arts and Writing
  • 7th-8th Grade
  • Workshops and Student Gallery Event

Lewiston Middle School Spanish language teacher Jennifer Goodine’s classes work with our teaching artist Natasha Mayers to produce moving and beautiful found-object shrines expressing their own experiences of loss. The shrines are exhibited at the LA Arts office gallery on Lisbon Street as well as at Lewiston City Hall for a month. The Dia Project is an outstanding example of highly expressive and creative inter-disciplinary art work, produced by students who don’t necessarily identify as ‘artists’.
