L/A Arts presents the June Art Walk: Color ME! Numerous local artists will exhibit in 24 venues located in downtown Lewiston on Friday, June 28th. The June Art Walk will feature a free musical performance by the Maine Marimba Ensemble at 6 pm in Dufresne Plaza (84 Lisbon St, adjacent)! Theater at Monmouth will be presenting the Velveteen Rabbit at 6 PM at Callahan Hall in the Lewiston Public Library. Art Walk Lewiston Auburn will host other community centered arts events in the newly developed ArtSpace garden and other participating venues. Art Walk 2013 is brought to you by Austin Associates.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo

Ladysmith Black Mambazo is a male choral group from South Africa that sings in the vocal styles of isicathamiya and mbube. They rose to worldwide prominence as a result of singing with Paul Simon on his album, Graceland, and have won multiple awards, including three Grammy Awards. They were formed by Joseph Shabalala in 1960 and later became one of South Africa’s most prolific recording artists, with their releases receiving gold and platinum disc honors.
